Mr. Snoops from Disney's The Rescuers was based on the writer, John Culhane

Books from John Culhane's Personal Library

Did you know that the inspiration for Mr. Snoops in Disney's "The Rescuers" and Flying John from "Fantasia 2000" are based on a real person?

John Culhane was a writer and journalist best known for his contributions as a Disney animation historian.

Above: Disney's World: a Biography by Leonard Mosley signed by the author is available for purchase on my Hudson River Book Peddler eBay store.

I recently purchased a pile of book's from Culhane's family last month and I'm adding them to my eBay store for purchase.

John was a meticulous researcher, annotating books with his notes and observations. Several of the book that I'm selling feature his writings in the margins that illuminate the book's subjects like this sizzling tidbit about Walt Disney's DUI stop.

This is just one of many and it's been a real treat to go through these books and notes. I'll post more updates on my Instagram and YouTube as more of these titles are added to by eBay.

John Culhane died on July 31, 2015, in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He was 81.
